Batgirl Gail Simone-who writes the DC comic Batgirl-has said on twitter that Julie would make a perfect Batgirl when they met at the Supanova convention.
She does look a lot like the character, that's for sure.

My Little School: In Which Opinions are HadI was asked to read this guy's comic called "My Little School" and write a review of it. Two thoughts came to mind, "why me?" and "why not?" My full qualifications for posting a review on the internet are "has opinions" and "can use a computer" which I think are pretty awesome qualifications. The answer to the question "why not" was more complex because I have this code of honour that involves honesty and not being too much of a dick, and here I was getting something for free in order to publicly review it. I just hoped it wouldn't be incredibly bad, because that'd be awkward for everyone involved :P
So anyway, here's my review of "My Little School" by Pedro Correia!

The art has a few things that I like about it: the character designs are distinct, and the poses are varied (there's actually perspective and backgrounds and stuff going on). However, the art looks very much like it was drawn without constructing how the shapes of the characters work. As a result, characte

To RECAP - this competition is a chance to design a character for the 2014 NOVA 619 story Epyrus - THE FIRST NOVA!
Arthian Dian was the first Xandarian to become a Nova Prime - wielder of the immense power of the Nova Force thousand of years before Richard Rider! Founder of the Nova Corps - Dian paved the way for Xandar to become one of the most influential powers in the Andromeda Galaxy!
So the brief. Design the look of FIRST NOVA! The character is MALE. Apx 25 - 30 years of age. Height 6ft. The design of the costume must have the three star effect - BUT AFTER THAT IT'S OPEN TO INTERPRETATION!

How not to be a creep at anime conventions.When I say "creep", I don't just mean the middle aged men hugging the teenage girls in maid outfits. I mean everyone in general who just stalks/glomps/tackles cosplayers at conventions. I am not posting this to tell you how to behave at conventions, but rather what is socially acceptable behavior.
 DO NOT GLOMP THE COSPLAYERS. I know that some of us are perfectly fine with the sneak attacks by fangirls on a pocky craze, but others feel uncomfortable with being mauled from behind. I have had this experience, and to me, it wasn't pleasant. I had to physically detach the girl from my person while she begged me for a photo. Please, don't be one of those people.
 DO NOT STALK/FOLLOW COSPLAYERS. Yes, we can see you. It's pretty obvious once we start conveniently running into you at every booth we're at, or panel rooms, etc. I know that we treat the fans with common courtesy and we ask you to do the same. It's the exact same feeling when you're in regular clothes and being followed

Well, this news doesn't make me feel too good, considering I was just asked to do colors for them and I agreed. A question, though: Can anyone say it was worth it in that it lead to some exposure and work from other companies?

I tried to get a pencilling gig with them, personally thought my lines were better then ones they had. Nothing happened but I met Rantz and through being pal's with him was referred to another chap who I got to do some fun work with.
Darren always had a reason to say no, and I was willing to do some work for free because I knew the book would get published and the exposure would have rocked.

I'd colored quite a few covers for Darren/Blue Water in the past, mainly because I was friends with the artists that drew them. I knew going in that I wasn't going to get paid though. Darren offered me work a few times, (all backend deals), but I never took em simply because I knew I'd never see a dime. I have nothing bad to say about him, because he was always up front with me about the lack of pay. I just took it as an opportunity to color over some of my friends and a few other great artists and left it at that.
